Vision
The vision of Department of English is to help learners acquire the ability to listen effectively and respond competently in real life situations, to improve learners acquire oral accuracy and fluency, to enhance the learners to develop their comprehensive reading and to provide practice for learners in organized academic and professional writing.
Misson
The mission of Department of English is to improve student employability by strengthening academic and non- academic courses, to strengthen faculty competency through faculty development programmes, and to improve or install supporting laboratories for enriching teaching and learning methods to maintain academic excellence.
Profile
The Department of English was established in 2007. It is supported by a committed team of professors who aim at maintaining its standards of academic excellence over the years. All the teachers are actively involved in research activities and in publishing research papers at National, International conferences and in Journals. They provide excellent training to the Engineering students to develop their proficiency in English. To meet the present demands of the liberalized global economy, communication skills and soft skills are also imparted to B.E/ B.Tech, M.C.A and M.B.A students to enable them to excel in their chosen fields. The Department has a well- equipped Digital language laboratory in which students are trained to hone their LSRW skills. In order to motivate the students to gain their confidence, innovative teaching is practiced through interactive and activity based pedagogy. The Department also offers vibrant atmosphere to scholars to nurture the spirit of scientific inquiry and to pursue research. The active field of research includes ELT, Language and Literature, Comparative literature, etc.
