Profile

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2006 under Bharathidasan Institute of Technology (BIT) with an annual intake of 60 students. Government of Tamil nadu took over the BIT and converted into Anna University Tiruchirappalli in the year 2007. In the same year, the student intake has been increased to 120. The Department has provided the excellent infrastructure to do research and regular academic practical in the following laboratories, Machines Laboratory, Circuit Laboratory, Linear Integrated Circuits Laboratory, Power Electronics Laboratory, Measurement and Instrumentation Laboratory, Control Systems Laboratory and Simulation Laboratory. The Department has a substantial research portfolio in the research areas of Power Systems, Power Electronics and Embedded Systems. Our staff members have produced many publications in the National and International level. The department is having mission to produce excellent and innovative academic quality in both education and research. The department is focused its research towards to bring the solution for alternative energy resource required by the nation to satisfy its energy need.
